Good sounding vintage microphone elements are becoming more and more scarce. This motivated me to develop microphone elements that could match the old vintage elements, but then made with new parts.
This quest led me to the Black Thunder element and later to the Red Devil element.
What are the differences?
At the bottom of this page you find a diagram that shows the features of both elements.
In general I would say that the Black Thunder gives you instant Chicago Blues sound. Great distortion, great crunch, lots of bottom and massive output.
The versatile Red Devil element does all of this and can do more. This element will challenge you to work a little on your techniques to discover all of the possible areas. The element responds very well to hand techniques.
