Argonne AR-54 / Primo M-151

Big Walter Horton is seen and photographed playing this microphone.

Was sold under different brands: Argonne, Primo, Calrad

This is the Argonne AR-54

The original version has the crystal placed all the way in the back, giving this mic a honky tone. For bluesharp it is better to have the element in the front, just behind the grille. So I placed the original 100% element all the way in the front in a custom gasket.

If you have smaller hand than average, this is not your microphone. It is bigger than most harpmics.

New Switchcraft connector and a freshly installed a custom volume control in the "stand hole".

Original paint and chrome. Nice Patina. Great shape

KingTone

I called this one the KingTone. This is actually not a real vintage microphone, but a retro vintage mic. All new parts are being used here.

It is about the same size as an Astatic JT30 (1mm smaller in diameter)

Inside is the Black Thunder element!

New Switchcraft connector
